Central england guitar ensemble

Central England Guitar Ensemble (CEGE) was founded by its musical director Andrew Gough in 2009 for adult classical guitarists based in the Midlands who wished to develop their ensemble playing skills. Since then it has grown to become one of the UK's leading amateur classical guitar ensembles.

The ensemble rehearses fortnightly at Hopwood Village Hall (B48 7AL).

CEGE now has members from the West Midlands, Warwickshire and Worcestershire performing both original works and arrangements from a wide variety of musical periods and styles. Concert programmes have recently included works by Isaac Albéniz, Jürg Kindle, Antonio Vivaldi, Astor Piazzolla, Vincent Lindsey-Clark, Mark Houghton, a Spanish/Latin American selection, arrangements of The Beatles, James Bond themes, Bernstein's West Side Story, and even pieces by Michael Jackson!

Over the years CEGE have enjoyed performing concerts alongside many other ensembles and choirs, they have also raised a considerable amount of money through their charity concert performances.

If you are of grade 7 or above and wish to join an enthusiastic group of guitarists please send your details to Andrew via the contact button below.
